I have a cousin who is an entrepreneur. Kay is also a college graduate. And, she's a wife and a mother of six. When she was looking for a part-time job- preferably something she could do from home- Kay couldn't find any profitable opportunities. So, she created her own part-time job, and it's a highly successful business that you can duplicate. Kay started her own Inventory Video Service. An inventory on video tape is an ideal way to keep a “list” of your possessions. It's faster and easier than walking through your household and writing down each and every item you see. Plus, in the event a tragic incident such as a fire or hurricane would destroy your home, a video tape is proof positive of the possessions you had. A video tape will also show what your belongings looked like, what condition they were in, and so on.

Another advantage of having your home inventory on video, is that you can review the tape yourself. You'll want to do this in order to determine how much renter's or homeowner's insurance you should have in case tragedy should strike.

Kay didn't have a lot of money to start her business with, but that's one of the beauties of the video business. All she needed was a business license, a camcorder, and a few video tapes. So, she borrowed a camcorder from a friend and then spent about fifty bucks for the license, the tapes, and a receipt book. The receipt book made recordkeeping easier. Plus, it gave her a quick way to give her customers a receipt. My cousin then called her first customer- me- and she was on her way!

Note: My cousin the entrepreneur didn't do this, but it would be a good idea to write up a disclaimer for each and every one of your customers to sign. The disclaimer would simply state that you claim no responsibility in case any item in their home gets broken or otherwise damaged during the time you are on their property.

I'm not sure what the going rate is in other areas of the country, but Kay decided to start out by charging twenty-five dollars an hour. Before she actually started videotaping a client's possessions, she first did a quick walk-through of the house. This would give the owner a chance to point out specific items of value such as high-priced electronics, antiques, et cetera. This also gave Kay a chance to remind people to get out any hidden items they had stored in drawers, closets, and so on. She also instructed the owner that he/she would provide the narrative as they toured the house with the camcorder going.

Then, armed with her camcorder and a fresh tape, Kay began her tour of the house with the owner. She made sure to zoom the camcorder in on the serial number of items such as televisions, stereo systems, computers, and the like, while her client described the item, told when it was purchased, where, and for how much.

I, for one, was pleased with the job Kay's Inventory Video Service did for me. So, I recommended her to family members, neighbors and friends. As you know, “Word of Mouth” is the best advertising you can get!

To recruit other clients, you can call your own house insurance agent and explain your new business to the agent. You can also design and print out some business cards on your computer.
Place these cards anywhere you can around your community. Look for bulletin boards at the post office, grocery store, and so on.

After each video recording session is finished, and the tape is clearly labeled, you should then advise your customer to store their videos in a cool, dry place. Inside a locked security box, in a home safe, or in a bank security box are three great places.

So, there you have it. If you're looking for a part or full-time job, or, just an easy way to make some extra cash, you can easily start your own Inventory Video Service. It's sure a needed service that few people provide.

The Battle for Your Television - IO Digital Cable Versus Dish Network

I have personally used both iO Digital Cable and Dish Network for their television distribution programs. While both have pretty high quality, one of these blows the other out of the water with some of it's concepts used in customer service and their product satisfaction. But first, lets learn some minor information about both of these companies.

iO Digital Cable is distributed by a company called Cablevision, a well known cable company that has pretty nice customer service. iO Digital Cable is only available in a few states, which are New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and a part of Pennsylvania. iO Digital Cable offers high definition television, also including interactive channels that include games. iO Digital Cable also comes with a basket full of additional channels including iO specific channels, music channels, and much, much more.

Dish Network is a whole other ballgame. Dish Network uses satellites to broadcast their television program. As of 2006, Dish Network has over 26,000,000 subscribers (source).

While Dish Network may be a larger company than Cablevision's iO Digital Cable, that doesn't mean that is it better in any way. From what I have concluded from using both products, I approve as iO Digital Cable as the winner, and here are the reasons why.

Customer service, it's something that Cablevision has. When my family had the house interior painted, the painter had to remove the television and cable box to paint behind it. In doing this, all of the wires got messed up, tangled, and were nearly impossible to figure out where they had initially been prior to the painting. I, myself, and a few of my friends tried to put the wires back, with minimal success in the end. We got something back, but it was apparently some regularly broadcasted channel that everyone got, it wasn't the iO box's channels. My father called Cablevision, and they sent a technician less than a few days later. I woke up one morning to see that the television was now back in order, and all unnecessary cables were gone, and the cables needed were in an orderly fashion behind the television. We had always had problems with Dish Network's customer service, as they hardly ever helped us when we had a problem.

The weather plays many tricks on Dish Network's programs. Sometimes if it's merely raining, you are unable to gain access to your regular television programs, and you may sit there minutes at a time waiting for the Dish Network box to allocate a signal. If it's raining or snowing, channels also become pixelated at times, making shows unbearable to watch. Also, such things as audio and video are not timed right at times depending on the weather, so you may hear one sentence from a script, and then see the character saying it a few moments later. iO Digital Cable has never given us one single problem when it came to weather. A lot of people want to watch television when the weather is bad, rather than when it is nice out, which is sometimes impossible to do with Dish Network.

iO Digital Cable allows you to play games using their own service at a mere $4.95/month. Also, iO Digital Cable contains “iO On Demand”, which allows users to easily view specific movies that are listed for a minimal fee. In doing this, the user now does not have to leave their house to watch a movie. Instead, the user can relax, and choose whatever movie they wish to watch from a specific list.

Lastly, the iO Digital Cable remote is easy to use, even for technological novices. Pushing the large “iO” button in the middle brings the user to a menu to look through iO On Demand listings, iO Games, and much more.

In my opinion, iO Digital Cable is the clear winner when it comes to 'iO Digital Cable versus Dish Network'. Every single aspect of iO Digital Cable exceeds that of Dish Network, at least from my perception.

Did You Know that is Possible to Be Cancer Resistant?

Have you ever been awake at 1 or 2 o'clock in the morning and couldn't get back to sleep? What did you do? You probably got up and watched a TV show hoping you would get drowsy and fall asleep. At some point you've no doubt seen the infomercials telling you how you can buy real estate with no money down. You've no doubt questioned whether that was possible. The answer is yes.

It is very possible to purchase real estate with no money down. What the gurus who's selling his real estate course doesn't tell you is it is not easy to do so and requires time and a lot of hearing the word “no”. If you do not have good credit, it is even harder. Don't let the difficulty of the deal prevent you from giving it a try. Isn't buying a $200,000 home with no money down worth it? You bet it is? Actually, in the example below, not only will you not have to put any money into a down payment, you can walk away with some money in your pocket.

Here's the situation:

There's a property for sale for $200,000. The seller is getting a divorce and is anxious to sell. Those kinds of people are called motivated sellers. There are plenty of motivated sellers out there. You need to talk to many people, but eventually you'll find a motivated seller. There are lots of people getting divorced, many people have to leave town for a new job or whatever, a good number of people inherit a house and have no desire to do anything with it except sell it fast, there are some people in foreclosure, and some people just want to sell quickly because of a family emergency of some kind. The point is you will find the seller who will accept the deal you're offering. So, you ask this motivated seller to give you a note of the property for $10,000. His investment will be secured by the real estate and you will give him a decent interest rate. You get a conventional mortgage from a bank of $160,000. You ask the seller to pay the closing costs. You also ask the seller to give you $3,000 for new carpeting and paint. You rent out the property for $1800 a month and collect a security deposit.

In this example what would happed at the transfer of title or closing as they call it in real estate circles?

The buyer, that's you, has title to a $200,000 home, $10,000 from the seller, another $3,000 from the seller for new carpeting and paint, $3,600 for the first month's rent and security deposit and no closing costs for you. That adds up to you walking away with $16,600 in your pocket and ownership of a home valued at $200,000. How many of these deals would you like to find? How about one a day, you say!

Now, the numbers are flexible here and negotiable, but the concept is what will allow you to not only buy a house with nothing down, you will also walk away from the deal with money in your pocket.

There are concerns about water contamination coming from the Superfund Site near Mead, Nebraska. Former State Senator, Don Preister had a meeting in December of 2008 about this Superfund Site according to a news article from the Omaha World Herald. While concerned citizens were there, officials from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers were not.

The Environmental Protection Agency's website, which was last updated in December of 2008, states that the ground water that was contaminated is not under control. This is what is a concern for many people including some who live in the area affected by the Superfund Site, according to the Omaha World Herald.

The Army Corps of Engineers has a website which has a fact sheet from October of 2008 stating that contamination could occur past the contained site within the next five or ten years. The site near Mead, Nebraska is a former Ordnance Plant which had contained bombs and rockets that were used during World World Two and the Korean War.

While the Army Corps of Engineers did not attend the meeting in December of 2008, they did have an open house in April and will have other open houses in the months to come.

Former State Senator, Don Preister was forced out of the Nebraska Legislation due to term limits according to Nebraskans for Peace. He appeared to be a driving force in keeping the concerns about this Superfund Site near Mead in the public eye.

This includes reports by Omaha's KETV 7, the Omaha World Herald and Lincoln's Journal Star. The news articles are all from 2008. Will the concerns about the Superfund Site near Mead, Nebraska be taken care of?

Water is vital for agriculture as well as drinking in Nebraska. This issue is therefore very important for both the health and economic well being of the state of Nebraska.

The Superfund Site near Mead, Nebraska is not the only Superfund Site in Nebraska. There is also the Superfund Site in Eastern Omaha which was due to the ASARCO Lead Smelter. The cleanup for the ASARCO Superfund Site appears to be mostly about lead in the soil according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency although there was some water contamination mentioned as well.

The idea of water contamination near Mead, Nebraska and also near the Missouri River in Omaha, Nebraska is frightning.

This is a situation that needs to be dealt with. Luckily, both the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers appear to be dealing with the water contamination near Mead, Nebraska's Superfund Site.

There is Nothing to Do?

Jon Foreman and the guys have done it again. Nothing is Sound is their 3rd album in a row to reach at least gold status (their last one, Beautiful Letdown, went platinum) The most recent addition to the band, and probably the last, Guitar player Andrew Shirley, helps to take Switchfoot's sound to another level.

Nothing is Sound is about coping with the not-so-sunny side of life. As usual with Switchfoot, the lyrics can be dubious. Many know of the band's “Christian by faith, not genre, policy”. As a result more than one message can be found in most of the songs. What you hear depends on who you are. Right of the bat the first song, “Lonely Nation”, talks about being empty inside. Jon warns us against living a robotic life, “We're just numb and amused and we're used to bad news and // we are slaves of what we want.” Another song in the album entitled “The Blues” is about feeling discontented with life and wanting something more. “Happy is a Yuppie Word” laments Murphy's Law where everything that can go wrong will. “Nothing is sound, nothing is right side right // …Nothing is cool // When will the fighting end? // Happy is a yuppie word…

Life's not all sour, however. Songs like “Golden” and “We Are One” point out the solver lining. “We Are One”, which was written by Jon in conjunction with his brother and band-mate Tim, grasps for unity and implores us to tear down our walls and put aside our differences. Jon sings, “We built these cities to stand so tall// we've lost// our walls// I don't want to lose you coming you coming down, with the whole world upside down…”

Common themes throughout the album include concepts like, loneliness, emptiness, and wanting more. All the way through, you are being stirred to look beyond yourself for something more. Staying in the same vain, “Easier Than Love” prods social change as it talks about the desensitizing and devaluating way sex is used in our culture. The band tells us we're being fooled with lyrics like, “Sex is industry, the CEO of corporate policy// Skin deep ministry, suburban youth hail your so called liberty…”

If you're looking for edgy music with crunchy guitar riffs and raspy vocals, you'll want to skip to tracks like radio rotation mainstay “Stars”, near-hard-rock “Politicians” and pop rock title “We Are One”. Also, “Daisy” is an interesting selection that starts as a slow acoustic song but morphs into something else near the end (I'm not going to spoil it for you). You'll find that during the songs “Politicians” and “Easier Than Love”, Jon has the uncanny ability mesh his voice in with the guitar so that they are almost indistinguishable. You'd have to hear it to believe it.

Turn the surround sound up to its highest setting when you listen to Nothing is Sound. The depth of musical layering that is Switchfoot is unmatched. The lyrics will make sure this disk stays in your CD player as you attempt to decipher their meaning. Each time you listen to this album you'll hear something different, even after the 50th time, which makes this an awesome buy.

Travelers who wonder about the meaning behind the bizarre three-letter airport codes of many of our nation's major air centers can have their minds eased here. That is, the mysteries behind many of these strange airport codes will be revealed in this article! Some of the most asked questions concerning airport codes are the following: Why does Chicago O'Hare International Airport have the ORD designation? What's with the GEG designation for the airport in Spokane, Washington? Do they make bakery products at the air center that serves the residents of St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Florida, given that it's PIE? Does Portland, Oregon, have a hidden letter in its name, given that PDX comes up for this Oregon city?

Many of these unusual three-letter mysteries that are put on travelers' luggage tags are based on the original names of the airports or what installation previously occupied the space where the current air hubs are now. These three-letter designations have survived over time even while the official names of the airports may have changed. This helps to keep confusion and costly changes to aviation-related publications in check, as well as to honor tradition, war heroes, and aviation pioneers.

ORD: Before becoming one of the world's great crossroads, Chicago's O'Hare International Airport was the site of an aircraft factory known as Orchard Place; and thus, the “ORD” designation for Orchard. Later, it became a commercial airfield, known as Orchard Field. In 1949, the name was changed to O'Hare Field, to honor local war hero Edward “Butch” O'Hare. The O'Hare legacy continues on to this day.

CVG: Cincinnati's international air hub isn't in Cincinnati nor even in the state of Ohio! It's located in Kentucky near the city of Covington, whose three letter abbreviation is CVG.

PIE: St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport used to be a military installation known as Pinellas Army Airfield; as a result, the “PIE” abbreviation came from the name Pinellas. It is in this area where the first ever passenger airline ticket was sold on January 1, 1914. Airport officials have actually sent edible PIES to travel agencies and businesses to encourage people to fly to this Florida hot spot!

GEG: Major Harold Geiger was a noted Army aviator and balloonist from times' past. His name is an ongoing, living legacy every time a GEG symbol is put on luggage or freight coming to Spokane, Washington, via the airways. Spokane International Airport was actually named Geiger Field until 1960, when the name was changed to its current nomenclature.

MCO: The airport code for Orlando's air hub does not stand for Mickey Mouse Country as some theorize. McCoy Air Force Base used to be at this locale, from which tourists the world over journey to en route to the Disney theme parks in the Orlando area.

IAD, DCA, EYW, and PHF: Cites that begin with the letters K, W, and N aren't allowed to have airport codes beginning with the first letters of their proper names. The letters K and W are reserved for radio and television stations. The letter N is for Naval Air Station's usage. So cities beginning with the above letters have to be creative; for instance, Washington, DC, has designations like IAD and DCA. Key West, Florida, is EYW, and the designation for the air hub located in Newport News, Virginia, is PHF, short for Patrick Henry Field.

PDX, LAX, SRQ, and CYS: The airport codes for Portland, Oregon; Los Angeles, California; Sarasota, Florida; and Cheyenne, Wyoming, respectively, do all have one thing in common. The last letter of each of these cities' three-letter designations is just filler letters that mean nothing at all.

MSY: Last and certainly one of best airport code stories of all is the three letter code designation of the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. On the last day of 1910, John Moisant, the first person to build and fly a plane with an all metal frame, and the first pilot to fly over the English Channel with a passenger and an animal, died of a broken neck after he was thrown out of his nose-diving aircraft at the current location of New Orleans' major airport. Stock yards for cattle were later put on the land where Moisant met his fate. The owners wanted to honor John Moisant, so they called the stock yards the Moisant Stock Yards, or MSY for short.

The city of New Orleans later bought the stock yards for airfield construction and named the completed project Moisant Field. In 1962, Moisant Field was renamed New Orleans International Airport. Still, the stock yards' designation remains to this very day, even with the recent Louis Armstrong addition to the official name, and that's no bull!

The Beginner's Guide to the Rh Factor in Pregnancy

In my quest for answers on the question. Could some of the Cherokee originated in Atlantis? I found a lot of interesting information. Some of my most interesting information came as an introduction to a prophet that I knew almost nothing about. The prophet is Edgar Cayce. I really knew nothing about him other than his predictions of the future, that I had seen on television. Most of these television shows were on the history channel. Yet, none of these predictions, I thought applied directly to me. While researching on the Internet ,I stumbled upon an Edgar Cayce website that had some amazing information. First of all let me explain to you, how that I first got interested in a connection between Atlantis and the Cherokee.

I have a rare blood type with the Rh negative factor and was researching it on-line several years ago, when I found an Internet group that was doing the same thing. Like looking for pieces of a puzzle, I saw connections between me and these people in the group. I noticed in the group that many had Cherokee ancestry as I did. A lot were of Celtic heritage as well. It was an odd coincidence to me that so many in the group had Cherokee ancestors, since there are so many different tribes of Native Americans. I thought to myself “What would be the chances of so many in one group of people with the same blood type, having mostly Cherokee bloodlines. I think also another reason that myself and this group were looking for answers or pieces to a puzzle of sorts is because, as many websites state. This blood type, blood factor is of an unknown origin.

The Rh negative blood factor is said to have originated 35,000 years ago in the Basques people in the Pyrenees Mountains. It is called a Basques gene. Many studies that I have read stated that the gene was carried from the Basque area to Scotland, Ireland and on to the British Isles.

The Rh negative blood factor is recessive and although a person can be Rh positive, they can still carry the gene if they have a Rh negative parent.

Quoted from the Cayce website:
http://www.edgarcayce.org/are/atlantis.aspx

In the Cayce readings, the Atlante-ans migrated from their last island prior to 10,000 B. C. and went to Egypt, North American and the Pyrenees Mountains. Some went to the area of the Gobi. Archaeologist have speculated that the Basques moved from southwestern Europe in between 13,000 and 8,000 B.C.. This group of hunter gathers were of the haplogroup X. Researchers have discovered that 3 percent of modern and ancient Native Americans have this haplogroup. The X haplogroup has been identified in the Middle East and a tribe that lived in the Altaic Mountains of the Gobi. These areas are specific to where Cayce stated that the survivors had fled prior to 10,000 B.C.

another source:

http://www.prophecykeepers.com/chickamaugacherokee/origins.html

Levi B Gritts that was chief in 1920 of the Cherokee Nation, and later became a Cherokee historian taught that the Cherokee came from an island in South American and that this island sank after the elders misused “white fire”. Some other Cherokee holy people taught that the Cherokee were a Medicine Clan called the As-saga and that this group went into the Great Smokey Mountains to preserve the ageless wisdom combining with others to become the Cherokee people, which are called the principal people.

The Cherokee have a distinct difference in dialect, though they are from Iroquois origins. So this solidifies the information of a gathering of different peoples.

There is much speculation by Archaeologist that not all Native Americans came through the Bering Strait to North American. It is clear by testimonies of the Cherokee holy people and Mt DNA that this is true..
